SERVICE RECORD

01/04/2023: This section is a work in progress. I am actively doing research and putting pieces together in hopes of putting together the full picture of my Great Grandfathers service. Below is what I have found thus far.

What I know:

He was in the 1st Infantry Division. Specifically the 1st Cavalry Reconnaissance Squad, Mechanized.
When he was discharged he was in Troop D 23 Cav Recon SQD that was attached to the 16th Armored Div.

    • Traveling to MTO (Mediterranean Theater)

 

  • August 22nd 1943

    • Sicily

 

1944

  • Dec 26 1943 - Jan 5th 1944

    • Traveling to ETO

 

1945

  • Unknown

    • Ansbach Germany

    • Traveled to USA
